We see high potential in building global leaders in sub-sectors including advanced materials, energy efficiency, and pollution control.

    In particular, advanced materials offer tremendous promise to China and the rest of the world as a key enabler of sustainable industrial growth. Our long history in China positions WI Harper to identify and commercialize exciting developments in advanced materials through our strong relationships with Chinese universities, governments and industry leaders.

    Our prior investments include advanced materials provider Cnano and emerging leaders in the LED market SemiLEDs and Neopac Lighting.

    WI Harper Group is one of the first venture capital firms to build a dedicated team to invest in the Chinese health care sector. We believe that although the U.S. will continue to be the largest healthcare market, China is rapidly catching up due to its strong economic growth and large population base. Tremendous opportunities exist to build domestic health care leaders in China and to bring Western technology, executives and business practices into China to build the next generation of global health care companies. We invest across the industry including health IT, medical devices, services, and diagnostics. We have funded leading Chinese firms in the medical device sector such as Edan and Chemclin; in the health services sector such as MJ Group, iKang, and in the health IT sector such as Greatville Medical.
