Sean Peng Joins as Managing Director for China; David Lam Promoted to Managing Director for US

BEIJING, CHINA – June 1, 2009 – The WI Harper Group, a leading early expansion stage venture capital firm with a focus on Greater China, announced today that Sean Peng, a 20 year veteran of the technology and venture capital industry and former Managing Director of H&Q Asia Pacific, has joined the firm as Managing Director. The firm also announced the promotion of David Lam from Partner to Managing Director.

Mr. Peng will head WI Harper's China operations and Mr. Lam will lead the firm’s US operations. Mr. Peng spent the past six years as Managing Director of H&Q Asia Pacific where he was responsible for investing in and monitoring its venture capital portfolio in Greater China and US. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Fortune Venture Investment Group, President of Golden Technology Venture Investment Corp., and President of Emerging Technology Venture Investment Corp. Mr. Peng started his career in the US as an R&D engineer and marketing manager at LSI Logic.
