Joseph J. Fan, Venture Partner

Mr. Joseph Fan was appointed by Carlyle Private Equity Group as the vice chairman & group CEO of kbro which is the largest cable TV systems and broadband service provider in Taiwan. Mr. Fan has just completed a deal which is to sell kbro to the shareholder of Taiwan Mobile. Previously, Mr. Fan was the President and CEO of Taiwan Fixed Network Company also a founder and president of Taiwan Mobile. He led the company to become the number one mobile operator and the first telecommunication public listing in Taiwan. Prior to Taiwan, Mr. Fan worked in Hutchison Telecommunications Group in Hong Kong and had extensive experiences in telecommunication industry in the Asia Pacific region.

Currently, Mr. Fan is a venture partner with WI Harper Group, a venture capital which focuses on China in digital media and health care services. Mr. Fan is also serving on the board of Hyundai Communication & Network (Korea), Eastern Broadcast Corporation, and Ta Chong Bank, and GSMA Ltd. Mr. Fan was selected by Business Week as a "Star of Asia" as one of the 50 most influential leaders in Asia in 2000. Mr. Fan was also awarded by various domestic and international institutions with many management and leadership honors. Mr. Fan graduated from the University of Southern California and post graduate at the California Institute of Technology.
